Mixing Analog and Digital Technologies

In general, there are three ways in which analog and digital techniques are combined:

  1. Analog signals are converted to digital form (digitized) to be recorded or transmitted.
  2. Digital signals are converted to their original analog form to be seen or heard.
  3. Digital circuitry is used to control, switch, or multiplex analog signals.
