Direct Current: Inductors

One of the basic characteristics of any electric current is that it has a magnetic field associated with it. A single wire carrying a current will affect the behavior of a magnetic compass.

In this group of pages, we show what is happening and how we can make components that will enhance this property and make practical use of it.
